About
How Notices works
Notices is for the short-lived things: a garage sale, a found dog, a heads up that the water is off. The Record is the other half, and holds the answers that stay true.
Every notice has a type
Every notice is filed under a type, which is what keeps the board searchable.
| Type | Stays on the board |
|---|---|
| Garage sale | 10 days |
| Free to a neighbor | 7 days |
| Utility or road work | 14 days |
| Heads up | 21 days |
| Recommendation wanted | 30 days |
| Lost or found | 45 days |
Notices come down on their own
When a notice reaches the end of its run it leaves the board and moves to the archive. Nothing is deleted. A dog found last spring is still there, still searchable.
Everything is reviewed first
A notice does not appear until an admin approves it.
Photos
Up to three per notice. They are resized in the browser before they are sent, so a full-size phone photo does not have to be uploaded.
Getting told about new notices
Pick the types you want to hear about and ignore the rest. Somebody hunting for a roofer does not need a message every time a dog turns up on Kingfisher.
Email is not turned on yet. Your picks are saved for when it is.
What does not belong here
Politics, crime and suspicious-person posts, and disputes naming a neighbor. See house rules.
