Using the site
What an account is for, what gets posted, and what a Services listing is and is not.
Who can use it
Reading takes no account. Posting, adding to Services and suggesting corrections need one, and accounts are for people who live in Timberwood, owners and renters alike.
One account per person. Do not sign up as somebody else or at an address that is not yours.
What gets posted
Everything submitted is read by an admin before it appears. Three subjects do not belong here at all: politics, crime and suspicious-person posts, and disputes that name another neighbor. House rules covers what that means in practice.
Submissions are also screened automatically for those subjects and for language the site does not print. That check only flags things for the admin. A person makes every decision.
What you post stays up
Post something and you are giving the site permission to show it, keep it in the archive and edit it for length or clarity. You still own what you wrote. Ask through the contact form and a specific post can be taken down.
Services listings
A listing is a record of what neighbors say they paid and whether they would hire the company again. It is not a recommendation, not a background check, and not a guarantee that anyone is licensed or insured. Check that yourself before you hire anybody.
No business pays to be listed and no business can pay for position. Companies do not control their own listings, and neither does the site: the order comes from how many neighbors have used them.
The Record is not advice
Every page cites where it came from so you can check it. None of it is legal, financial, insurance or engineering advice, and nobody running the site is a lawyer, an inspector or a city employee. Where a page and the City of Humble disagree, the city is right.
Prices, phone numbers and rules go out of date. The date a page was last checked is on the page.
Accounts can be closed
An account that posts what does not belong here, posts as somebody else, or uses the site to sell something can be removed. The admin will say why.
Changes
These terms change as the site does, and the date below moves when they do.
