Schools
Timberwood is in Humble Independent School District, district line 281-641-1000.1
The zone does not split inside the neighborhood. Every address in Timberwood goes to the same three schools, checked in the district's own address lookup. The district runs that lookup through the Zūm bus tool: enter your address, pick the school, and it returns the campus, the route and the pickup time.1
The three campuses
| Grades | Campus | Address |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-K to 5 | Jack M. Fields Sr. Elementary | 2505 S Houston Ave, Humble, TX 773962 |
| 6 to 8 | Ross Sterling Middle | 1131 Wilson Rd, Humble, TX 773383 |
| 9 to 12 | Humble High School | 1700 Wilson Rd, Humble, TX 773384 |
Start times, and the Thursday catch
| Campus | Most days | Thursday |
|---|---|---|
| Jack Fields Elementary | 7:55 AM to 3:20 PM2 | same2 |
| Ross Sterling Middle | 8:26 AM to 4:00 PM3 | 10:01 AM3 |
| Humble High School | 7:15 AM to 2:55 PM4 | 9:15 AM4 |
Thursday is a late start at the middle school and the high school, and not at the elementary. One day a week the morning runs backward from the other four.
Transportation
Jack Fields Elementary: no bus. The district draws a Parent Responsibility Zone around each campus, "approximately a 2 mile walk out from the nearest point of the campus entrance", and inside it no bus runs.5 Timberwood addresses come back inside that zone for the elementary, so the 7:55 school run is on the family every morning. Check your own address in the tool: if it lands in the purple "No Transportation Zone", that means "not eligible for bus service".1
Ross Sterling Middle: bus service is available. Where a bus does run, an elementary student can be asked to walk up to a quarter mile to the stop and a student in grades 6 to 12 up to half a mile.5
New this year: you have to sign up. Starting in 2026-27, a family whose child is eligible for the bus "must register their child using the Zūm Transportation Registration Tool before the first day of school".1 Eligible is not the same as enrolled any more.
A family with a kindergartener and a seventh grader has one kid to drop off at 7:55 and one on a bus half an hour later, at two schools on opposite sides of Humble. That is worth knowing before signing.
Ross Sterling is being replaced. The district broke ground on a new campus on May 11, 2026, and it "will open for the 2027-2028 school year".6 Attendance boundaries and start times often move with a new building, so treat both as good for this year rather than settled.
